My Story
My Bowen journey started in 2003
When a school friend invited me on a Bowen Therapy taster weekend, a therapy I had not heard of before, but always being up for learning something new in the health world, I said YES! I was so bowled over by its light touch and effectiveness, I signed up there and then, to complete the course.
I knew I was learning something amazing early on, when my dad volunteered to be my first case study. He was not a believer of all this “mumbo jumbo” as he would call it but happy to help me. He had fallen off a horse some 2 years earlier and landed on his shoulder. After 6 months of conventional treatments he still couldn’t lit his arm more than 45 degrees and he thought that was it.
Three treatments from me, a week apart and his arm went all the way up to his ear, and he never looked back!!
I have always been interested in the human body, food and healthy living and have been studying it in one form or another since my teenage years. After an 18-year career in the food industry, I had a light bulb moment and decided to follow what I really loved and enjoyed.
So, I left my job and set up my business as a Bowen Therapist.
I enjoy my job enormously, as it is a great privilege to be able to help enhance people’s general daily lives by improving their general wellbeing, reduce their pain and discomfort, and allow them to lead more comfortable and fulfilling lives. I am regularly reminded how amazing and effective this simple and gentle hands-on therapy is.
I am a registered member of the Bowen Therapy Professional Association, fully insured and attend regular new workshops to build on my original skills, increase my knowledge and understanding of the body, and keep abreast of new science.
